Project Updates

We have overcome major hurdles to get to the point now where we are shovel ready. Below are the objectives we have completed, those in progress and those that are yet to come.

We will update this page as objectives arise or are completed.

Objectives Completed:

  • Planning permission granted: 16 June 2026

  • 25-year lease signed: July 2026

  • Landlord's permission for capital works: July 2026

  • Feasibility study completed and associated fundraising: end of 2025

Objectives in progress:

  • Pobal Community Centre Investment Fund: €100,000 applied for on 14 July 2026, for the roof, windows and doors, floor and heating. Decision expected December 2026;

  • Fundraising - Community fundraising began October 2026

Future Objectives:

  • Community Sports Facilities Fund (application window opens 19 October 2026 until 26 February 2027)

  • Business Fundraising Plan (2027)

  • Start of building work: When we have sufficient funds
